A development licence allows you to setup a secondary instance of WHMCS for testing and development purposes.
We recommend setting up a staging environment that allows you to test out upgrades and add-ons/customisations before deploying them in production.
Development instances of WHMCS must always be for internal use only and not be public facing.
- Those who purchase a licence directly from us qualify for one free development licence key for each active paid licence at the Plus or Professional tiers, or three free development licence keys for each active paid licence key at the Business tier. An 'active licence' is classed as any Leased licence that is up-to-date on payments, or an Owned licence regardless of Support & Updates status.
- For those whose licence was obtained from a reseller, there is an option to purchase a development licence for a one-time $45 fee.
