Incremental releases are made available for maintenance and security related updates. These patch sets contain only the files that have changed between the previous release and the update and therefore can only be used for the version they are listed as being compatible with.

What is a Full Release?
A full release distribution contains all the files of a WHMCS product installation.
It can be used to perform a new install or update an existing installation (regardless of previous version).
You should use this if:
You are installing WHMCS for the first time
- or -
You are upgrading from any version other than the immediately previous version *
* If using the previous version, an incremental patch update may be available. See the Patch Sets section below for more information.
What is a Patch Set?
Patch Sets are the easier way to upgrade when you stay current and up-to-date with WHMCS releases.
They contain only the files that have changed between the immediate, previous version and the version of the patch.
By including only the changed files, patch sets have less files to upload which makes the upgrade process quicker and simpler for you to perform.
PLEASE NOTE: Patch Sets are only compatible with the version listed. Attempting to apply a patch to any other version will result in a "Down for Maintenance" error and require you to use the Full Release package to upgrade.
What is a Pre-Release?
Pre-release versions are intended for testing only.
They are not supported for production use and once upgraded, it is not possible to downgrade so please consider this before installing.
Pre-releases are typically restricted to only users enrolled in our Beta Testing program.
