  » What's Coming Up

A lot has been happening here at WHMCS in recent months. We've teamed up with cPanel, and also moved into new offices to accomodate our growing workforce, we released one of our biggest upgrades to WHMCS to date, and met some of you at our first ever HostingCon conference in Boston.

Obviously this has taken up considerable staff time, and as always with a new release, we do experience a considerably higher volume of support requests which combined with everything else, led to some of you experiencing delays. The result was slower than usual response times and I am very conscious that we did fall well below our own high standards for support. However, please rest assured that we remain as committed as ever to offering industry leading support and with a combination of new staff, and some optimisations to how we handle our support operations, we are confident we are now fully back on track.

We have exciting things ahead, and I look forward to sharing them with you in due course. Thanks for your continued support, and I wish you the very best with your online business.

Matt Pugh (CEO/Founder)

Announcing our Partnership with cPanel

cPanel & WHM is a leading control panel for the Linux operating system, used by more WHMCS users than any other. And so we are pleased to announce that we have joined forces, with the goal of creating a more integrated solution for web hosting providers that will provide a more cohesive solution.

So what does this mean exactly for you as a user of WHMCS? Well if you're a cPanel user, it means that soon you will be benefiting from more integration than ever before, and many exciting new things that have never before been possible. But what if you’re not a cPanel web host? Well you will still benefit. We’re not becoming cPanel only, and both us and cPanel remain committed to supporting a wide range of control panels exactly as before, but with the help of cPanel's resources and expertise, users of other control panels will also benefit from the enhanced input and collaboration of the two companies, regardless of platform.

WHMCS V5.1 Release

Last month saw the release of WHMCS V5.1. The latest update to WHMCS contained over 200 changes, bug fixes & improvements and had something for everyone. We won't bore you with the whole list, but here's just a selection of what was introduced:
  • Admin Area Interface Updates & New Widgets
  • New & Improved Reporting Tools with new reports, and integrated graphs
  • Domain Addons Client Area Management offering the ability for a user to add & manage additional services for their existing domains
  • A Re-vamped Admin Order Process giving a live summary of the selected order
  • Sticky Client Notes which show up on clients profiles, products & tickets
  • Support Ticket Quick Lookup additions to provide easy access to ticket history and client logs
  • Customisable Order Statuses allowing you to more easily track more complex order fulfilment processes
And much more besides. The update is available to download from our client area, and instructions for how to upgrade can be found in our documentation as always at http://docs.whmcs.com/Upgrading

New Office, New Staff, & More...

As some of you might have seen from our job advertisements, in addition to the joining of forces with cPanel, we've also moved into a brand new office in Milton Keynes, UK. The aim of which is to accomodate both more support staff and developers, to allow for greater collaboration and allow us to ramp up both the development and quality of the releases we can deliver.

Along with the new office has come a number of new staff, many of which you will start seeing if you interact with us through our support desk, as well as on social networking sites such as our Facebook page, and also on our forums where we intend to have more of a staff presence going forward.

We hope you find the changes beneficial.

What's Coming Up

WHMCS V5.2 - Development of the next release of WHMCS is nearing completion and we'll be announcing a beta within the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned for updates.

New iPhone & iPad App - Our mobile apps have proved really popular since their launch over 2 years ago, and we've heard the demand for an iPad app, so in addition to an update to iWHMCS which will introduce a number of new features, including iOS6 compatability updates, iWHMCS will also for the first time support native use on the iPad's larger screen, which will make processing orders and responding to support tickets far more convenient than ever before.

cPanel Conference - We were at HostingCon last month, and we'll be at the cPanel Conference on October 8th, so if you are a user of WHMCS, it would be great to meet you. We'll be at booth #4.

That's all for this issue, thanks for reading. If you want to stay updated with everything that's going on, please follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
